You will be notified when your vehicle is ready to be picked up by phone and text. Feel free to call or email us if you have questions or concerns.
We recommend you to remove all of your belongings from the car. Our technicians will need to access all areas of your vehicle as it gets disassembled, repaired, painted and reassembled.
For your convenience, we have a drop box located at the office door. You will find envelopes and pens so that you can provide us
with the information about your vehicle, and any special instructions that you may have. If you need to pick up your vehicle after hours, please give us a call to make arrangements. We are always accommodating with your busy schedule.
There are three types of parts that are used in the repair process, and it is important you
know that the difference.
• Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts are made by or for the manufacturer of your vehicle. These parts are equivalent to the original parts on your vehicle
• New Aftermarket parts are copies of your OEM parts made by another manufacturer. These parts are generally cheaper than OEM parts, but tend to be of lesser quality than OEM
• Used or Salvage parts are parts that have been recovered from totaled vehicles
At Cranberry Collision, we prefer and request to use OEM parts over all other types, but the insurance companies set their own policies to comply with Massachusetts mandates on Aftermarket part utilization. Unfortunately, we have no control over their policies. If you are not satisfied with the usage of Aftermarket parts, you may speak with your insurance company Claims Rep or Appraiser to ask them to authorize the use of OEM parts.
What we recommend endorsing the insurance check over to Cranberry Collision after
the repairs are completed. If you deposit the check your bank will require the check to
clear before you are able to draw any funds against it, possibly causing a delay in
delivery of your completed vehicle.
The insurance appraiser does not disassemble your vehicle and only writes an estimate based on the damage that they can see. As collision repair professionals, Cranberry Collision licensed appraisers will take the time to identify all of the related damage done to your vehicle and obtain the necessary authorization from your insurance company to make these repairs. Once the vehicle’s panels and parts are removed from your car, we can see what the real damage is. Our mission and results of our diligence is that your vehicle gets returned to you in its pre accident operation, safety and value.
Massachusetts state law provides you with the right to take your vehicle to the repair center of your choice. Insurance companies are required to give you a list of ALL registered repair shops within your geographic area. These shops are licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Here are some tips on selecting a collision repair shop:
• We suggest that rather than depending on the insurance company to tell you where to go, ask your family, friends, neighbors for recommendations about where to go.
• Call the Better Business Bureau and local consumer organizations to check the shop's reliability and performance or see if any
complaints have been filed.
• Make sure the repair shop has experience working on your type of car, and look for certifications such as the Automotive Service Excellence, or "ASE," seal, the American Automobile Association approval, or other trade association memberships.
• Do not select a repair center because they are claiming they will provide you with the lowest estimate. Initial estimates only detail the visual damage to your vehicle. There is almost certainly going to be more damage discovered after the vehicle is disassembled and inspected thoroughly.
• Inspect the repair shop and ask questions. Look for a clean, well organized facility and make sure the shop has updated equipment. Ask what parts they will use on your vehicle. Choose a shop that provides a customer
satisfaction policy.
We realize this is a huge inconvenience to be without your vehicle. However, due to
nature of collision repair, at this time we are unable to provide you with a realistic time of
completion until we had an opportunity to:
• Completely and systematically disassemble
our vehicle.
• Methodically inspect every part for damage.
• Have your insurance company view the damage and approve our repair plan.
• Order and receive 100% of the parts needed to repair your vehicle.
We will keep you informed of our progress throughout the entire repair process here at
Cranberry Collision.
